Great work, Charlie
Always be yourself because the people that matter don't mind, and the ones who mind, don't matter.

Spiffy results there, Charlie.
The thing that holds up all my woodworking is simply getting started.

Re: Latest Turnings
So Very Nice! I love turning, only have a small Jet Lathe with the extension that is mostly used to turn pens. I am not skilled at bowl / vessel turning and could really stand some education in sharpening of my tools. Makes me appreciate when someone creates something so beautiful. I can only imagine the time it takes to create a segmented turning like this.
I am in awe!

Don't do it Duane! You'll end up with a house full of segmented stuff. Nice stuff Charlie!

Re: Latest Turnings
Duane, Scott is correct. If you get into segmented turning you will end up with a house full. As for time, it doesn't mean much when you are retired.
Someone once stated that he wouldn't attempt segmented turning because he didn't have the required time available. That can be so true. I have spent as much as 140 hours on one vessel. But, I spend 8-10 hours a day in the shop. I look back to when I had a paying job and I was lucky to spend 8-10 hours a week.
