    Panel sled
Those of you on the panel sled project, need to find out if your RH miter slot is industry standard 3/4".
And with the blade at exactly 90 deg, measure from the RH side of the blade to the left edge of the RH miter slot.
Many saw manufacturers put the miter slots in the same places, but yours may be different.
Sleds can be made with most any 1/2" to 3/4" ply, MDF, MDO, Melamine as long as it's flat. The one I'm using now was leftover from a cabinet project and is 25" X 37", 2ft X 3ft is close enough. If anyone has a lead on suitable materials, please let us know. Pickup a pair of toggle clamps and seasoned 3/4" hardwood for the fence and we'll install them here. A hole saw, 2-3 inch will be sufficient for the finger holes (can't find mine or we could do them here). Or maybe one of you has one and would bring it to the workshop.
While not strictly necessary, an Incra or another metal miter slide is recommended. Otherwise a hardwood miter slide can be used, but it will aggravate you.

Just realized this is tomorrow. Guess I better be getting ready. What time do you want to start? And can you PM me the address? My GPS should guide me there.

OK, that's all the workshops I had scheduled.

Doug and Ken; have you tested your sleds yet?

If anyone wants to do a workshop, let me know and we'll see about a date...

    Re: Jigs Workshop UPDTE 7/02

The wife put me to work Sunday mending a barn stall wall. Even though we started early, the heat wiped me out for the rest of the day.

But I will get around to the finishing touches on the sled and testing it soon. I'll post a picture of the finished product.

Thanks again Joe for all the help and experience you shared this past Saturday.

More later, when I get my head above water. Too much to do, too little time and too much heat.

    Re: Jigs Workshop UPDTE 7/02

More progress. I made the initial cut and added some hold down clamps. I haven't aligned the fence or made a test cut yet. And I still need to cut some finger holes in the front to make retrieving it easier.

Here is what it looks like so far. Joe's design is simple but remarkably effective for the purpose it serves. Which makes it an elegant design in my opinion.

I realized that I needed to extend the grove for the miter slot into my outfeed / assembly table so took a little time to route that out before making the first cut.

I put the sled to work today. Used it to cut the ends off of a Cribbage board I'm making out of some scrap Cherry I had laying around.
