New Member From Reidsville
Hello,
My name is Boyd. I'm delighted to find this forum. Sure is refreshing to know that there are so many great people around me that are enthusiastic about wood and woodworking as I am. I enjoy virtually every aspect of woodworking. I even enjoy cutting firewood. I love working wood plugged or unplugged, but I like the power tools better when it's hot out. I have a bandsaw mill and live on wooded property. Mostly saw up deadfall unless I'm building a structure. Nothing like walking through the woods and finding a downed, spalted Ambrosia Maple to throw on the mill. I enjoy bushcraft, carving spoons/turning bowls/rustic furniture. I don't yet have the talent for making fine furniture. I'm better off with a hachet and spoon knife right now, as opposed to a dovetail saw. Looking forward to interacting with ya'll. Lots of knowledge out there. Hopefully I can bring some to the table as time goes by.

Re: New Member From Reidsville
Glad you're here Boyd. Some of the NCWW folks in your neck of the woods might want to know more about your band mill. Wish I had one myself. We love pictures!
Experience is a hard teacher; she gives the test first, and the lesson later.

Welcome to the site Boyd. Some of us get together for lunch once a month in Greensboro at The Moose Cafe at the Farmer's Market. Love to have you join us. It's very informal.
BillI'll gladly tell you how I do something. Just please don't confuse that with the right way to do it, and almost certainly not the only way..gif)

Re: New Member From Reidsville
Thanks for the welcome Bruce. I'm sure I'll be "Gushing" about my sawmill on future posts. It's a portable Woodmizer that will saw 32" dia. logs up to 20' long. The cool thing is that I end up with left over drops of various species of wood that I give to my fellow woodworkers for bowl turning and furniture making.

Re: New Member From Reidsville
Thanks Bill. I am very much looking forward to the lunch. Last time I got to sit around and talk with fellow woodworkers was at the Woodmizer customer appreciation day this past March. I really did enjoy it as I know I will enjoy the lunch.
