Some of our members may not be familiar with onsite quick n dirty jigs.

This one that holds a door so you can mortise or cut in the hinges is one of the more useful.

I did a lot of Remodel in my early years and this jig I have made/used a hundreds of time to hold doors or sheet goods.

Can be made with a 2x4 or 2x6. I prefer 2x6, but that is just me. basically take a appox 24" 2x and cut about half way through a 90deg cut, then measure about 2.5-3" over and make a cut that is 15-20 deg angle parallel to the 1st cut. Finally, make a wedge with the same 15-20deg cut make it long enough to be about 2" on the fat side to nothing.

Set the door in and use the angle wedge to secure. Easy. If you are worried about buggering the finish put tape on the door 1st.

I had need because I needed a throw away door for our jobsite to secure the 2nd floor. Really hurts to spend 150 bucks only to throw it away in 2-3 months. It is what it is

My dad always said you may not be able to teach new dogs old tricks, but I think he was just teasing........ :D
