I am very pleased -- @Hmerkle called me with the good news earlier this afternoon to let me know -- just sorry I didn't make the picnic, but I am pleased that I was able to give a decent contribution to a great forum to help pay it forward.... You know I am happy - if you weren't watch for the gloat post soon!
But, I wanted to take a minute to give a BIG THANK YOU to all who volunteered there are MANY moving parts and we had lots of good help this year from the food and set-up to the prizes and the "flow" of the day. I will not name everyone, you know who you are and you are personally vital to this organization!
If you didn't get involved this year and it made you want to get involved, please let us know we are trying to enlist more and more people for committees and simply have more help at a physical event or even in the background on the site.
A BIG thank you to everyone who purchased tickets - this is what keeps the site healthy and allows us to do things like outreach, workshops and the picnic - The numbers are coming, (what we raised through ticket sales) but I think they were pretty good so give yourselves a pat on the back.
Finally I want to give a shout out specifically to Matt (@mpholway) and Robert (@rcarmac)
It is not easy to pull off a successful picnic a big portion of that is requesting donations and some of the intense organization that Matt and Robert did - please let them know their hard work is appreciated
