Maybe I'm the only one since no one else has mentioned it, but I think that 10 days is too long. I would be happy with 4-5 days. This may be because I tend to stop by at least a couple of times a day (retired and nothing else to do, you know). Others may not stop by but once a week or so. Just my thoughts.

I think my wording was bad. The system will keep track of whether or not you have read something. So if you come on and only read some things. The next time things you haven't read will still show as unread but the things you have read will no longer show up under new posts.

But if you haven't read something in 10 days then it mark it read anyway. Does this make more sense?

Nice job Steve - it all seems to be working very well. And you did it before your self-imposed deadline. Well done! Happy New Year NC Woodworker forum. Z

Hi Steve-

Great job researching and implementing the changes. I've been a 'lurker' on this forum for awhile, having joined while looking for some info for a gate project I was working on.

I'm retired (Community College Media Specialist & Internet Instructor) I in past years did 'the Craft Show Circuit' (or at least part of it!) showing Scrollsawn Christmas ornaments and decorative wood items. I have a small (very small) shop out back where I spend many hours making sawdust (and kindling wood!!)

Looking forward to getting to know the membership, and hopefully meeting some and sharing ideas and knowledge.

Richard

Richard, welcome to the Site and thanks for joining us. Don't forget to add a post to the "Who We Are" forum so we can get to know more about you. You pretty much covered above but the other forum may help other folks find it and add their welcome as well.
