This is the way I have set up the uploading limits on the photo gallery.

Every picture can be upload to max of 2MB per picture.

If the picture's resolution is greater that 800 on any one side the picture will be resized maintaining aspect ratio for the longest side to be 800.

What happenes to the original picture? It is still there, but the 800 pixel image is shown as the default image but the full size original is still there and can be viewed.

I strongly recommend that you you upload the highest resolution image that is 2MB or less and let the Photo gallery do the resizing.

You must have plenty of storage space!

How do we view the full-size image if we want to? Different directory?

We are currently using 300MB and I have 30GB available with more available.

But I should note that if and when we get into space problems, one of my options will to be delete the originals. They made it a one click operation

Of course, I won't do that with out plenty of warning.

If you look at the the thumbnails you will see a dimension. Pictures that were uploaded with greater than 800 have a second dimension listed. Clicking on that will display the original. also Clicking on the thumbnail displays the resized version. Clicking on the resized image displays. the full size
