Question

I just got a pretty generous offer in the mail today for WOOD magazine . 3 yrs for the price of one
Anyone have any input on this ? Bear in mind that I am but a babe-in-the-woods concerning woodworking . Will the majority of this be over my head ?

Thanx for any and all input

Bro: I have taken Wood for several years. I like it for several reasons. One is the full size patterns of at least 2 projects per issue. You might find them helpful also. I also pick up some good tips from each issue. For my money, it's a good "learners" mag.

ThThthThat's all folks!!

Robert I think that it is an ideal mag for you to learn from . The current issue (sitting on my desk) has some great shop tips, a plan for a simply built but really nice looking dresser, a couple tool reviews (you know you need more tools ) and a three table set in their "Basic Built series that needs nothing more than a tablesaw, drill, router and sander...and wood.

MTCW,
Dave

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Robert and James, was the offer mailed to you. Is there anyway to spread the good fortune of a 3 for 1 to some of the rest of us?

I was going to ask the same thing. That's a deal and I enjoy that magazine.

That's about the best price I've seen for Wood magazine ...

It's a good magazine and one of my preferred "throne reading" mags.

I get Wood magazine as well as most of the others, it's not my favorite but I always seemto find something worthy in it. 3 for 1 is a good deal.

I have the first issue and every one since. I've tried others but rarely read them through. One thing I've always done with "Wood".
There are no doubt better magazines if you want to specialize, but they cover the gambit.
Detailed but not to the point of distraction. Interesting tool reviews. A little something for everyone. Simple projects to advanced. And their price has remained reasonable.
I'll keep taking that one.

When I started this hobby, my Dad gave me a gift subscription to Wood. I really like it for the very same reasons. Full size plans, informative articles that seem to match my skill level. However - be warned. Some of those tool reviews have directly influenced me and led to the expenditure of hard earned $$$

A few years ago, my Dad offered up his entire collection of Wood magazines up to the point I started taking it to me. I, too, now own all issues from the debut issue #1 to date. I take advantage of the multi-year discounts whenever offered.

Do it!

I got my first WOOD magazine this month because of a very generous offer from one of our great brothers of NCWWer's - From this first one I can already see that I am going to really like it - I also got the same offer in the mail and I am going to jump on that offer quick - Robert I can't say anything else different from what the others have said - I hope you have already filled out that form and ran to the mailbox

Robert,

I have been receiving the magazine for a few years. You are welcome to come over and look through a few before you decide.

The plans for my daughters hope chest was from one of the issues.

The offer came in the mail. It also included a fold out "poster" that had basic shop information on it such as wood screw sizes with pilot hole sizes included, different drill bits with their uses and limitations and so on. My wife even laminated this so it would hold up out in the shop. But, she also threw away all the paperwork that was in the envelope as soon as I finished filling out the order form. If it was still here I would gladly pass it along, but it is gone.
