Thumbs up

Okay, I admit it ... I already really liked Woodcraft in Matthews. Since the first visit, I felt like I was welcome and they did an excellent job at customer service. I never feel like I'm being "pushed" into a purchased and their staff is (for the most part) top-notch. Sometimes the price is a little higher ... but with that I get a beautiful store, informed staff, and immediate satisfaction ... which is why WC is good with me.

Well, in the past week they've proven to me AGAIN why they are my woodworking store of choice.

Yesterday I went in and ran across Dennis (the store manager) and he told me to check out the new display on the counter. As I went up there I noticed a new display for Extractor pliers. Why is this meaningful? Well, about two months previous I was expressing my extreme like for this product and suggested WC carry it. It's one of my favorite hand tools and there just aren't any stores about that carry it. I wanted other WWers to have the opportunity to get top-quality tools ... and I also wanted to see WC support other small companies (like Jefferson Tool, the maker of the Extractor pliers). So ... THUMBS UP to Woodcraft in Matthews ... that's good business.

(Next time you're there, pick up a pair of these pliers ... you won't regret it!)

Do you have any good experiences that you'd like to share? I really believe we have to share the good experiences...

If I am not mistaken, they were at the Charlotte woodworking Show this year. I almost bought a pair then.

It is always refreshing to find a good retailer. Pneumatic nailers make fasteners go in sooooooooooooo easily, I am glad someone has made it easier to remove them without major damage to a project when they are in the wrong place

We also have the extractors in the Raleigh store, for those of you who may find the trip to Mathews a bit long.

I didn't mean for this to be an ad for the plier ... but they are very cool and work great.

Great write up Jeremy!

The Extractor people may want to consider a surgical version and charge a couple of thousand for them. A Kansas City surgeon could have used one last week when a guy walked with a framing nail in his skull :

Re: Mark -- wow!
Man, that's pretty illustrative of the media, too: note how the nail goes from 2 1/2" to 4" on the same page!

I coulda used one of these gizmos yesterday while trying to extract some 2 1/2" pneumatic finish nails from a piece of oak.

I bought a pair at the CLT WW show this Spring & I can vouch for them. Anyone owning a pneumatic nailer (or a claw hammer for that matter) should have a pair of these. They have failed me only once on some old hard oak that had been air nailed. The heads popped off in the wood in a few places.
