I found out about the Woodsmith Shop show here in the ncwoodworker forums, from a "heads-up" post on upcoming episodes, and just finished watching my first episode, on our local KQEDL over Comcast cable.

I was very pleased by the presentation, episode 104, "lumberyard to tabletop." The lumber terminology explanation was very helpful, and the presentation on jointing and planing was a real eye-opener for this novice. The tips and jigs were especially appreciated. I really liked the jig for truing up uneven board edges on the tablesaw; the built-up construction for T-slots, no need for a slot cutter, that rocks

A really excellent show, I am very glad it was mentioned here

John

It's the only show I know of that actually teaches... techniques. Others offer ideas of projects or plans. Looks like this one offers the how-to for all the others. Terrific show.
