I found this go kart plan for the kiddies. It looks like a very easy project that the kids would have fun with all summer.

You can find the free plan here......

That is a pretty cool go cart. Do they have plans for big kiddies?

Cool Clay, that is a well done plan. Thanks for posting

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Now all I need is a big hill - I still have a scar on my knee from riding one of those things back when I was like 8 years old. What a blast Ours had power steering (rope wrapped around a big pulley) and a old ford steering wheel - Maybe that's what was wrong with it . We scrapped that design and came up with the rail I think the frame was 16' 2x6's

It gets really exciting when the steering quits working on a curvy hill. DAMHIKT

Perhaps I was disadvantaged in this sort of thing as a kid... I have never been on one. Now... ask me about riding double on a bike... on the handlebars going down the biggest hill we could find.... yep.. broken arm, broken bike, and when parents found out how... broken butt....

Now, that's cool . . . right down to the padded seat
We did the 2x4s, automobile steering wheel, broom stick for steering rod, and leather straps instead of rope. Also used old cast iron gears from the cotton mill for wheels.
Wipeouts were painful

Now that is a way cool cart, Clay!

In my day .................~1959 or thereabouts, we did the cart thing. Four wheels, a piece 8x12x6, 2x4's for axles, wagon wheels and a couple of ropes tied to each corner of the front "axle" for steering. Man were we fast!!!! Stopping on a steep hill was the real trick!!!!

Wish I had a grandson to build one for, now!!!!!!!!!!!

That idea/plan brings back alot of great memories.

Thanks Clay!!!

We called them Herty-Gerties. I may still have some pieces of chat gravel inbedded in my hide from those days. We never did come up with a good braking system. One of my buddies tried throwing out a cement block tied to a rope. It didn't stop him, but when he finally hit the ditch, his arm ended up stopping the block trailing behind. We all got to sign his cast, tho
