A couple issues back in either ShopNotes, or Woodsmith, I had my tip about color coding polarised plugs published. Today, I saw same tip in the second magazine since mine was published. That means two others have also sent in, or copied my tip. So if you got um, send them in.

Aren't they published by the same company?

The second mag I saw it in (Handyman) is a Readers Digest publication. Fine print there says they share subscriber info with others with which you may have an interest. Might explain some of the unsolicited stuff folks are receiving.

We used to have this kind of thing happen all the time when I worked for racing magazines. swo often that we thought someone on our staff was selling the stuff to a competitor. Then I actually went to work for that competeitor and found out they also thought we had someone working inside their offices.

It is a focused market with only so many ideas floating around. There are going to be times when there is accidental duplication without anything sinister behind it. That's not to say people won't copy things. They will
and I have lawyer bills to prove it. It's not always copying though.
