I know that at least a few of you do it. I know I have. But my question is, for those that are somewhat satisfied with the North Carolina Woodworker experience on a blackberry, which model do you have??? What settings are you using?? And, if you are using the wireless network in your office space, that is sort of cheating, but helps me figure something out, as my Curve 8310 is good for a lot of things, but leaves me scratching my head when trying to surf North Carolina Woodworker.

TIA, pete

North Carolina Woodworker doesn't work too well with the built-in browser ...

HOWEVER, download Opera Mini (http://www.operamini.com) to your Blackberry and surf away. Works like a champ.

I use the built in browser on my pearl and it is ok. I downloaded opera mini and did not really like it. However I probably did not give it enough time for trial and error. I have been contemplating re downloading it. I use Cingular's internet service.

OperaMini is just like your computer browser ... but MUCH smaller. It maintains the styling of the website more true to form. When you browse a page it's VERY small, but it has a little box you position-click to zoom. Then you can use the 2-4-6-8 keys on your keypad to move quickly around the page in zoom mode. I'm very pleased with it ... and for free!

Ok. I just tried this on my smartphone running Windows mobile 5 and IE and it seems to work ok. Now, tell me why I would want to do this??

Safari browser on iPhone works good. I know this does not help with your Blackberry but thought I would throw it out there.

I'm also using Opera mini on an older Curve. The most recent version works much better than my initial attempt. No lockups since I updated.

Thank you Jeremy for reminding me of the browsing shortcuts in Mini Opera, they do help a lot! I think, however, that there are some changes I will be making to improve my BB - North Carolina Woodworker experience... Just don't know if I have the patience to change those in one shot.

Crackberry runs on vbulletin too, I wonder if they could provide guidance... I bet an issue there is that because they are specifically supporting BB users, it makes much more sense to have their forums work well on the mobile web.

Gotta remember to go find the latest BB OS tonight, too. I understabd some folks are getting better throughput and reduced memory leak with the latest. I'm currently running ...55.
