This is all about the great friendships on this site......

Well it all started when I won a bet with Geoff (Bigdog72), with the Rays beating his beloved Red Sox. My prize is a free breakfast. So when he posted about his maple problems, I told him that I was heading to Saw4You (Jack's) to pick up some cypress and asked if he needed some pine which I would bring to him when we met for breakfast. So he told me to pick up 50 bd/ft.

Then he talked to Mac (skysharks) who mentioned that he had to pick up 200 bd/ft of black walnut, so now I'm picking up black walnut. I also was picking up my load of 100 bd/ft of cypress. I was also looking for some baltic birch on a thread I posted here and Robert (sawduster) pm'd me about some 1/4" that he had for me , if I wanted it (I was looking for 3/4" BB but I can always use some 1/4"), so after leaving Jack's in Rolesville, I headed to Youngsville to pick up the BB from Robert (enough for me and Bigdog ) and headed home. I had my neighbor Bruce with me and when we got home he walked into his garage and pulled out a piece of 3/4" x 2' x 4' BB that had been sitting in his garage for two years and he offered it to me since he didn't need it.

So in the 'Six degrees of seperation' style I touched Jack, Robert, Geoff, and Mac. I would like to thank everyone involved for a good morning, it's good when you deal with that many North Carolina Woodworker's in one day.

Breaking my tradition (and fear of anything computer related) I am now posting my first photo, it's of today's haul.

This Site Rocks !

Just think, If the Red Sox hadn't lost none of this would have happened. A simple twist of fate (and some crappy pitching) brought us all together!

Thanks for all that you do, Jimmy!!!

It always amazes me when similiarly minded folks interact. There's a lot of it on this web site. Our benefactor (and his select band of scallywags)does a heck of a job in screening and weeding out the less than desireable elements.
To truly appreciate this site all one has to do is visit some of the other ones a while and see how long it takes before you come 'home' with your tail between your legs...
When you see this sort of post, not so much a 'success story' as another example of the community spirit that thrives here, I just feel good inside even though I had nothing to do with any of it. I've shared moments though I tell you what, with a bunch of our fine folks. And no doubt many more to come.

Now about that wood, who's on first????

Jimmy, can you get from Rolesville to Youngsville without passing thru Possum Track?
