My son and daughter visited this weekend, so on Monday we took them to the river to show them what the Hobie could do. Unfortunately the winds were very light and it was not much fun to sail.

The wind forecast for today was much better, so after getting up at a leisury 8:00AM, working out at the pool- only a mile since I am just starting up again after a month layoff, and just messing around 'til late morning, LOML and I headed east to the State park on the river with the Hobie Cat in tow. The wind was great so we sailed about 12 miles back up river to little Washington. We had planned to have lunch at Backwater Jacks, a local Tiki bar restaurant near the waterfront just east of town. Unfortunately, there was no place to beach the boat. We made a pass by the downtown waterfront then headed back down river. As I said, the wind was great so we were really flying. I am a bit pink and sore from the sun and sailing, so I plan to spend the evening in my recliner. Maybe I'll do some woodworking tomorrow.

Golly, somebody has to do it! Sounds like you had a great day with LOYL!

Man, it's got to be good to be retired. Only 30 years more to go

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Funny how we can approach similar activities, in the same weather, in opposite ways! I wanted to go out in my jon boat to do a little fishing Monday, and it was too windy for it! It's no fun being blown around when you're trying to find Mr. Bucketmouth.

Maybe I also need a sailboat!
