I thought I would give another look at Workbench magazine, with the "one free issue" offer. Boy howdy, was I disappointed. The issue was about home makeovers, such as neat ways to hang family pictures. I think one would find more detailed articles in Martha Stewart magazine.
There were maybe 6 pages of tool reviews (a paragraph or so about each item). The only thing "shop oriented" was a piece of drilling angle iron, and threading the holes with a tap set. Oooh, the thrills!

Needless to say, I scribbled CANCEL on the bill and posted it Thursday morning.

Oh well, at least I can look forward to my first issue of Shop Notes.

om,
Thanx for the warning,I was gonna do the same offer and revisit them but I'm not paying for another Lowes magazine. How is Shop Notes as far as projects and plans.Seems like I looked through one quite awhile back and it was pretty informative.I think my fav mag is Fine Woodworking and their various specialty issues.

That is the WORST magazine in my opinion. Almost wish I never gave them $10 for 2 years (or whatever it was).

My wife gets that. I read it more than she does, just for something to occupy the time in the reading room. Not really a woodworking mag at all

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

I think I am going to let all my subscriptions expire. I am then going to start rereading all the magazines I have saved. I figure they will last me at least 12 years. Will use the money I save to buy a piece of wood or two.

If I need to buy a new toy I will just submit a post and get more good info than I will ever get from a mag.

Hopefully I will find all those great ideas I was going to do but forgot about.
