Scroll down to new post on my new clamp rack.

Least you all think all I think about is routers .

I am doing some major reorganizing and had these out and thought it was a good photo op. 27 total and most of them are Jorgensens, they rest are nicely made kit ones I got from a friends late fathers collection.

Does any one have any good storage ideas that take up as little space as possible and gives them easy access?

Nice collection! I like the handscrews; I have a few Jorgensens and a few Woodcraft ones, which seem very well made. Right now, I'm just stacking them on their side, since they are tricky to hang on racks made for other clamps. The other way I've seen them stored is on bars or wood sticking straight out from the wall, and then you slide them on between the screws.

How often do you use them? Looks like you have the solution by stacking them on a shelf as you have them stacked for the photo. How often you use them woulld govern the height of the self.

WOW! Nice collection.

I have some and have been using a narrow board that was hug shelf-like on the wall to keep mine. I just clamp them to the board edge using the front screw of the clamp to snug them up so they don't fall. If you do it this way they won't require much more space than they are occupying in the picture, just turned 90 degrees from the way that they are sitting. If you can reach between them enough to unscrew either handle you can get or replace any one that you need easily.

It's funny Tom, when I saw the rolling rack for sale I was wondering what you were going to do with those clamps. sorry though, I've got no ideas for storage.

I use a piece of 1x2. I clamp one tightly at the bottom and lay the rest on that one. I clamp one tightly at the top angled down a bit. Then I just hang the whole mess where ever it is convenient. It's also easy to pick up the whole thing and move it to where ever I am working.

I have seen them stored with a piece of 2x4 coming straight out from the wall about 10" for them. The clamps are opened some and the 2 by fits in between the jaws and threaded rods. For the smaller ones it would need to be like a 1x3, but that way you get a lot of them in a small amount of space.

I haven't tried it myself, but I need to, although I have nowhere near the quantities you do. Heck, I don't even have half that many and 2 of the ones I do have are older Sears ones that the handles don't stay locked to the threaded rod.

Very nice collection!

I don't have quite that many but I too have pondered a better solution when I reach that point in shop organization. I like Mike's idea it seems much better than my current "tossed into a plastic tub" method

I have mine stored on the leg brace of a utility table I have. I just open the jaws and drop them over the square leg brace. With as many as you have, you would most certainly have to use both of them.

I want to be able to grap a clamp with out moving others above it or have to unscrew it to remove it. I think something sticking out of the wall that would hold maybe 4 claamps, maybe something dowels?

Yea, something like Travis is talking about sounds good.

Store them at my place, which frees up space in your shop. No need to thank me.

Well I finally got around to designing and building my wood clamp clamp rack. It is not in its permant location. It solves my main concern of easy access with out having to unclamp the clamp to move it.

Cool solution Tom, duly noted for an upcoming upgrade to my clamp storage

I just realized that if needed I could cut it in half and have two racks if the final mounting places dictates it.

Nice job Tom ! I like the fact that you don't have to clamp them down to use them.
