I have Wild Blue as my ISP since a dial-up connection after having previously had a cable ISP would make me bonkers . I do a lot of online banking to save on postage and gas expenses but my bank ( one of the larger ones), apparently has had issues between their servers and Wild Blue's since the bank upgraded security last year. Today I could not even access the bank's main site much less the secure site to get to my account. A call to tech support resulted in a work around link being e-mailed to me to access the account but it is a PITA. Does anyone else have a satellite ISP that causes similar problems ? I love the bank but for this problem to be unresolved for over 6 months is beyond ludicrous.

You might want to check with you cell provider to see if they provide wireless broadband access. The satellite option (Hughes sat) is very expensive and from what I hear is not all that good.
Another opton is to try and see if you can get DSL.

Dan C. Thanks Dan, The only cell provider out here that gives a decent signal is Alltel and their charges for internet service would far exceed what I pay for satellite service (Wildblue and Hughesnet are about the same) Embarq will not have DSL available this far out any time soon since the number of potential customers do not yet justify the expenditure to extend their service. The only brightness on the horizon is that Buggs Island Telephone coop (local phone company) recently won a FCC auction for new frequencies and will be offering wireless internet service using small household antennas in several counties over the next few years I have heard that patience is a virture so I guess I shall try to be more virtuous .gif)
