Like Wall lumber and The Hardwood store in Gibson?

Do they buy it from local sawyers or from places like mcquen lumber?

I would suspect that they get their stock from huge commercial operations. Possible some specialty stock from local sawyers. That is a great question. I am sure that there are huge operations out there with millions of board feet of wood ready to sell it on the wholesale market.
It's too bad we can buy in the volume to deal with them.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

How many THOUSANDS of board feet do you want? That will get you the best price. It also drops the price if you send your own semi to pick it up. You know, FOB their dock.

As I am in the lumber and flooring business as FAS Timber, I will gladly help here. The hurdles are quantity and location. It is hard for us to break up a bundle and we usually sell from the mill near Ashboro.

So the issue is to get to about 1500 bf and a truck or trailer to pick it up. The loading can be by fork lift at the mill.

If you want C & better Red Oak, we are talking about $2.00 bf for S4S, Kiln dried. thickness is probably 4/4, length and widths can be specified or random ( 4' to 12' for length and 4" and wider)

You will get a combination of flat sawn, rift and quarter sawn. The bundle can be picked up and separated off site.

Any of these variables can be specified, species, thickness, length, width, flat, rift or quarter sawn but it does make the price go up. It means that we have to have a person sort through the cut lumber and pull out the specified product.

We usually take green lumber, dry it and mill it. We make flooring and boards (4/4+) and planks (4/4).

This is not a mill we own. They do contract work for us.

I will be glad to help and answer any more questions.

John
