Well, I'm about to be shopless (and broke). I found out two nights ago that my office is closing on Monday and we're all being laid off. Unfortunately, that is where my shop is setup. I'm looking at possibly storing all of my tools in a friend's garage for a little while, but I won't be able to work that much in there as he is trying to sell his house. To be honest, that is the least of my worries. With my severance package I'll have about a month to find another job. I guess that isn't that bad. To be honest, I was sick of that job so this is probably a good thing that has happened. I just feel bad for some of my coworkers who are married and have families/mortage/near retirement. I'm trying to be optimistic about it and look at it as an opportunity in disguise. Thanks so much for your support. You guys (and gals) are the greatest!

Trent

You can always bring your tools out here to store, I promise I'll try my best to not use them too much!

Best of luck though, looks like we'll both be surfing the job market at about the same time!

Best wishes from our house to you and your co-workers!!

Trent,

Sorry to hear of this latest misfortune, but you've got your head on right and you'll find a better opportunity just down the road. I'm sure other members in the Wilmington area will chime in with offers to help you keep your tools secure and they may even know of some job opportunities. Keep on keeping on!

If the job for you isn't in the near future, Trent, perhaps you can work one of the seasonal jobs at the beach that pays cash.

Trent,

Just remember that when one door closes it is usually to make room or opportunity for another door to open. Hopefully it will be a bigger and better door. I wish you luck.

Sorry to hear of your troubles! I was laid off back in October and am still looking. I wish you better luck in securing a new position than I've had!

Trent,
Sorry to hear about the job. This is probably a kick in the pants to find something you really want to do. I'm putting my feelers out for a new opportunity. I have to say it's much easier looking for a new job while you have one. Good luck in your search. What is it that you do? Maybe we can all keep our eyes and ears out for opportunities.

Trent, best of luck finding a new job. Let's hope this is indeed an opportunity and you'll come out of this ahead.

Sorry to hear about your job. I know something will appear for you - just remember to keep your eyes and ears open. Sometimes things develop from unexpected sources.

Trent sorry to hear of your problems. I wish there was more I could say or do but to tell you to hang in there. Things seem to work out in the long haul. Good Luck.

Sorry to hear the news, Trent. Remember. One door may close, but another much larger door full of opportunity will open for ya!

Time to take a break, enjoy the month of May and by all means be selective of the next opportunity!

Good Luck and hang in there!

Trent, I don't mean to downplay your situation, but my grandmaw, who raised 7 children as a widow, always said, "For every 'possum there's a 'simmon tree somewhere." You just gotta keep huntin' man.

Trent I have always heard that "crap" comes in threes. Your girl friend, your last place of residence and your job. The good news is that it's all over now and things are going to turn around for you. Just remember you were looking for work when you found your last position, and you will find another. You're a smart guy, and that is a rare commodity in todays job market. This might be a blessing in disguise, you might find the job that you've always wanted, but never had the gumption to go looking for.
Please do tell us what your field is, there are many folks on this site with many different business, that may be hiring or looking for the right person to fill a position that is poorly staffed. I feel confident that you're going to come out of this smelling pretty and walking tall
