Thought I would start a new thread on this. We went to court today to make sure the driver of the tractor trailer that T boned my son did not walk on the ticket. The driver plead guilty but asked for the ticket to be changed from running a red light to careless driving. Our attorney was all smiles. The change saves the driver points but really screws the insurance carrier and the company that owns the truck. They are not going to be real happy with him.

It has been 28 days and even though my son does not have any broken bones he is still really hurting. The police officer at the wreck came up to my son after court and told him he still could not believe my son even survived the wreck.

Round one to us.

The most important thing as you know is that your son is walking and talking. Insurance companies fight all day long every day and enjoy it. Just hope it comes out in your favor monetarily. Nice start in court though. And I hope your son feels better real soon.

Having retired from a career in criminal justice it always does my heart good to see the "good guys" win a round in court . Hope your son heals as soon as possible .

Hopefully your son will continue to recovery and you win the rest of the rounds.

About 18 months ago my father blacked out while driving north on 85. Still can't believe he and my Mom got away with almost no injuries. One thing I learned is that the soft tiisue of the body absorbs a lot of damage. Your son's blood work will probably show elevated levels of some chemicals as a result of the accident. It will take some time to return to normal. From what you describe the impact was considerable. So I am not surprised by his continued discomfort. Buck up there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Doug

P.S. My Dad got a pace maker as a result of the crash.

Glad your son is recovering. Hate when they reduce a charge when it is absolutely accurate. He should have points assigned to his insurance!

Our lawyer said his insurance is going to cost him even more with the change he asked for. The fine was even much higher. Guess things are different with a CDL.
