Hello everyone,

Some of you may recall my thread from a month or so ago in which I let you all know that the (former) LOML and I decided to call it quits. I wrote that to you in my darkest hour when I felt that I had no where else to go and the support you all showed literally brought me to tears. THANK YOU!

Well, after a few awkward weeks in the old house, I managed to find another place to live down here at the Southend of Wrightsville Beach. I moved in with a girl that I don't know, but so far things are going well. She works a lot and travels quite a bit too. The best thing is, that I was able to get off of the lease at the old house and will be getting my SD back soon. This past weekend, I got home from work on Friday and my car did not leave the driveway until yesterday morning. I can walk down the street to the beach and ride my bike to the bars. So, onto the gloats.......

I got this in the mail today

I had been eyeing that thing for a long time and finally broke down and got it. I also got the extension kit for it. I am still shopless, but I will be able to store it at work and use it there whenever I need to (SOON).

Here is the view from my porch

The porch wraps around the North and East side of the house. That is the view of the sound, marsh and mainland.

Here is the view from the other side

You can kind've see the ocean over the Oceanic restaurant/Crystal Pier.

I'm currently looking for some walnut for a 4'x4' coffee table for a friend of mine. That will be my next project. If any of you know of anyone here in the area that might have some at a great price, I would love to talk to them. Also, I would like to mention that this is my first gloat. Please feel free to let the suckage flow like wine. I've been looking forward to this thread for a LONG time. Thanks so much for all of your support!

Trent

You suck! (for two reasons ... 1. You got a new Grizzly Bandsaw and 2. You got a killer view). Sorry they both came under poor circumstances. So is this a solely a living arrangement or is this roommate a new friend? I must have been sleeping, I don't remember you and LOYL calling it quits.

Trent,
Great snag on the band saw and new place, but I don't see any waves dude. One door closes and another opens to a beautiful view, so it goes. Well good luck with both.

Yep you suck for the bandsaw

And that view awsome, makes me homesick, I was born in Redondo beach, and raised on the coast

Let me bring you up to speed on some Boolean algebra. B+B+DWV=AN. That means, Bandsaw + Beach + DeckWithView = Adirondacks Needed.

Forget the walnut for now. You can't put a cold one on a walnut coffee table, so make the Adirondacks, and invite your friend over for an afternoon in the chairs with suds at hand and boats and babes in view.

Head up to Burgaw, see Ivey, get some Cypress, Assemble that Saw and Go For it.

Build the coffee table when you have a shop and the bikinis are in storage for the winter. It's Spring, ain't it?

You young guys never learn!

You get out of the clutches of one ornery hag and fall right in with a younger, better looking, kinder, gentler, livin on the beach... what was i sayin?

Oh yeah, there was this bar in Tuscaloosa called the Screen Door Factory. They made nice wood screen doors during the day and served beer at night, had a great house band and one of those 70s lighted dance floors. What a place, if only it had been on the beach.

Trent, You Suck!!! For this very special occasion, I'm getting the Big Man involved:

But...with that kind of view, how are you supposed to get any kind of woodworking done? Other than sitting on the deck and whittling on a stick?

I suggest you stick that saw in the living room (you can leave it wrapped up, don't care), call it a shop, and put your name on the Shop Crawl list. Just reserve sunny, warm weather

WOW!!!! What a killer view!!!!:e usa_danc

Old retired folks like me sure wouldn't mind a comfy adirondack on that deck - from about May 1st to September 31st!!!!!!!

It is really great to hear that all is well with ya! You will have to post a pic of the bandsaw, when you get it all set up.

Really glad to see that things are really turnin' around for you and you will have a great summer in the new digs!

Trent I save this for special occasions, and I think this qualifies....

A new bandsaw, beach view, and a new woman...who you don't have to answer to (hope she's easy on the eyes).

Yep the SUCKAGE does apply and also a big congratulations are in order.

Speaking from experience (the first one lasted 17 1/2 years) things happen for a reason.
Time heals the wounds. And then all of a sudden great things start to happen.

Keep the head up and walk proud. There is a family here that never goes away. And this family has BIG ARMS.

Way to go Trent
