Exclamation

Hey folks,

I'm sure most of you are probably aware by now that Tropical Storm Hanna was named this morning. It is forecasted to strengthen and head in the general direction of the Southeast. While it is still too early to tell where it will end up, it might be a good time to start preparing. In addition to that, the tropics are forecasted to light up like Time's Square during the next week or so. The following is a link to a really good website that is updated several times per day. This is where I get most of my information. On the right side of the page, you will find Jeff Master's (co-founder of the site) blog. He writes one or two per day, depending on acitivity. I just wanted to share this with you all in hopes that you will be more prepared if a storm does come our way sometime soon.

Cheers,

Trent

I've had my fill of storms... I was in New Orleans this past weekend for a nice helping of tablesaw Fay. I then traveled to Atlanta where Fay arrived Monday morning. I came back home in time for Fay to dump on me again. Enough already!

I actually posted this thread and it said "Table Saw Hanna...." I saw it and was like, "man, I'm an idiot." When you put "T S" (with no space) in, it automatically makes it "table saw". Luckily I figured out how to fix it before I confused everyone. Sounds like the begininning of a fun inside joke.

Hate to cry wolf but......get your gas now. My wife, being a petroleum geologist, and still in touch with friends back in Houston recieved the word today to expect more than a 10 cent jump if Gustav makes landfall anywhere near the refineries. In WV its already up 5 cents.

read an article today and said they have basically pulled all workers out of gulf by end of thursday. a barrel will go up 5$ min. which sets gas up 10-15 cents now. also said that if any damage in gulf refineries, gas could jump up to 5-8 dollars a gallon before storm ends! oooo boy, saw this coming!!! i wish i could take a week off and charge my customers 50-100% increase!

im looking to purchase a horse to do local commutes soon! hope stores start to install areas to tie up the horses!

Also my "Home" page for weather info. Type in your zip code and get a ton of info, and $5.00 per year membership gets rid of the ads. I have been a member for about 5 years. Trent it seems that we are finding out we have more in common every day.

Cool, I didn't even know about the membership thing that gets rid of the ads.

Yes we do have a lot in common Tracy. You didn't happen to win the lottery today did you?

Well, I don't mind if oil goes up $5 a barrel, since it is down $2.56 today alone, and over $30 in the last couple months (down to ~$115 from ~$14. In general it seems that bad news gets more play than good news.

No problem Lorraine. It's a lot more detailed than weather.com. Jeff Masters explains it very well too.
