Here is a picture of 1 of 3 - I got with my pickup in 2006 - I call him Bumper and he was mighty tasty. He's hanging over the door of my shop right now covered in sawdust and spider webs. I Need to clean that place up I do - but as soon as I do it gets all messy again - plus this way I know where every thing is... At least that's my excuse.

Thanks

As for meds on dogs, I don't think any are totally effective. Neighbor uses Frontline, son uses K-9, and I use Hartz from wallyworld. We still pick ticks off our dogs. You find a very healthy tick between two dried up ones. We have been spraying Sevin in the past, but switched to a product from Bayer this year. Spray today, and tomorrow no ticks where I sprayed. Unfortunately one of my neighbors owns 40,000 acres of land, so we have more than enough deer. Buicks do a good job of killing deer- ask me how I know.
Ticks are horrible here in rural southside VA also this year. I was looking at the Bayer stuff today and I am glad to hear it is effective. I have some cleaning up to do in the woodlines and want to de-tick before I start tromping around

You can hunt in Wake County. Lots of deer hunters near by.

Today, I am sitting at my desk, fiddling with what I think is a pimple on my back, and I get me a deer tick....... I will be using Bruce's extermination method.
