I saw this on another forum and got amused so.....

As those that have met me know, I am not the trimmest of fellows. I block alot of sun and I sweat alot. I mean my arms sweat, my legs sweat, everything sweats! My question for all is how do you handle sweat? Hat, bandana, shop rag, etc. What's your favorite method for keeping sweat from dripping on those beautiful projects and glistening cast iron tables?

Geoff,

Nothing works for me, eventually the iron gets wet with sweat. I keep paper towels and wax paper on hand in this weather.

Until I find a deal on an appropriately sized unit on sale I have two small AC window units in the shop but with our current temps approaching triple digits they cannot keep up so I find a good old bandanna tied around my head a must. Depending on the current tunes playing on the stereo I can easily pretend I am either Rambo or Wavy Gravy with this fashion statement

Glenn,

I know you were in law enforcement , but I still see the Wavy Gravy coming out more than the Rambo.

I sweat so much while I'm turning, that it looks like I'm running the lathe by water turbine . I gotta get an AC for the garage... maybe if I rolled the car in and ran the AC on it with the windows rolled down. What could go wrong with that idea .

"First of all, I don't sweat, I perspire. Second, I don't perspire")
(OK, who knows which TV show this came from?)

This is one problem I'm happy I don't have...my shop is nice and cool. Could it be a humidity issue instead of the heat? Have you thought of adding a small dehumidifier? You'll still sweat, but it will evaporate quicker and not drip onto the table.

Well, in the ballpark in terms of character. It was Charles Emerson Winchester III from MASH who uttered those words.

What's wrong with sweat? It's not too bad is it?
