Anyone manage to make a snowman today?
My daughter and I made this one in the shade this morning.
It's now in the sun and I think it's going quick.
But it's the fun of making it that counts.

The snowman looks terrific... but here in Raleigh, what we got didn't even count for a dusting. I don't think I had enough snow to make a thimble sized snow creature.

I couldn't convince my coworkers (in RTP) that we had so much snow in H'borough. I had to bring in a snowball and some pics just to prove it

I'm in Johnston county, we've had nothing but rain for two days. I didn't even have the heat on yesterday, I woke up and the house was still 67 degrees.

I guess I shouldn't complain the ground by me is so wet that there were still puddles around all day today.

Cool Jak!
Did you make the nose, eyes, and buttons?
They appear to be wood . . . no carrot or coals

In fact my mother made it a few years ago for my daughter. It even has it's own cinch top burlap sack.
I realized you can't tell from the picture, but she carved the little corn cob pipe out of wood as well.Head on it doesn't look like much.
She did a great job on it.Everything is mounted on a 10" dowel so it pokes in and stays put.
She saw it somewhere and made her own version with her own improvements.
Thanks for asking

That sounds like it was a lot of fun! We had nothing that even resembled snow in Forest City.

We got a little less than an inch here. Had a small snow ball fight with my son and daughter before it melted... I also actually shoveled it off the walk and deck. Habit I guess, from when I lived in the frozen tundra of northern IL. I seem to recall up there they had a law that if someone slipped on your walk because you were lazy and didn't at least make an attempt to clean the snow off of it you were liable for the damages, well actually it was your homeowners insurance. I still have my "snow" shovel that I moved down here from up there and used it today - yep it's a real snow shovel and still works.
