As of 3:00 pm the smoke has cleared- headed to the northwest. Looks like I'll be sailing later today! Haul in the lines, make sail, stand abaft of the after gaff (don't know what that means- I like the alliteration)

The smoke has finally found its way into Lexington (Davidson Co.) Worked out in the smoke today until 1:30 and then I went to pick up my wife's van to get the A/C checked and the compressor is shot - Had to ride without the A/C and I can really tell it with my breathing - Plus our son is at football camp today - I hope they are inside

Noticed the smoke in Charlotte today, this is wild, I would've never thought it was spread this far!

what a mess. peat sure has a distintive smell when burning dont it. last fire we had this big was back in 84. they pumped lake phelps down considerably trying to fight that one. the waters edge was at least 100 ft from where it is norm. hard to catch a bass under a pier like that.... took years for it to recover
