LOML and I met Mr. & Mrs. Splinter at the Bistro at my favorite winery for lunch yesterday. Went back to Splinter's afterwards for a shop tour. (Oh man, a shop with A/C). Dolan and Lena completely gutted and rebuilt his old home and did a great job. The cabinetry was amazing and the planning for everything was thorough. Great job on everything.

As we were leaving, this is what wanted to follow me home. Dolan graciously said yes.

Oh yea, a case of wine wanted to follow me home from lunch but, no picture, it must not have happened!!

Charles, I'm not sure why you call this a small gloat. Lunch with a fellow NCWWer and WOOD following you home is a big gloat in my book!!

YOU ROCK!

Tracy, I haven't tried turning a bowl, and my tabletop band saw won't come close to cutting wood for blanks. Dolan cut these for me to practice on. The bigger ones are from a Magnolia limb cut from over his son's house. There is also some smaller Cherry, Mahogany, Rosewood and a piece of mystery wood. I'll make some pen blanks from the smaller pieces.

Randy, you're right. It was a very enjoyable day.

Nice haul Charles!
Glad you finally got around to visiting Dolan's shop. He is a classy host
I, too, was awe struck by the cabinetry. And the fact, he and Lena worked together to design and build them doubles the impact.

Happy turning!
BTW, how are you doing on the inlay?

Roger
