Steve, I am sorry to hear this news. Having no pets of my own, I wish I could say something to help you feel a bit better. I have known several people that have been down that path, and it always brings a tear to my eye. Please accept my sympathies.

Sorry lil brother.
You have met me, so you kind of know, the type of man that I am.
Our pets truly do become part of our family.
When it is time for one to go it isn't any easier.
I have had to lay to rest several "friends" (pets) in the past, and I have cried too.
I feel with and for you brother.
At least he is not in pain anymore.

Steve - I, too, offer my condolences. I remember seeing how much a part of your life they both were when I came over. A couple of big kids. Having had to make the same decision several years ago I understand how difficult (even if it is right) it can be.

We are sorry for your loss...We had a similar experience a few years ago with our Cocker Spaniel. The vet we use is of the opinion that our friends just don't live long enough. I think I agree.....

Steve and Gail
Please except my condolences on your loss of Rocky. I too will be in this situation soon with our 15 year old poodle.

Steve:

I will miss Rocky too. You were always trying to shoo him out of the shop thinking he was bothering me while we talked, but I was enjoying petting him almost as much as he enjoyed being petted. He was a great companion.

I hope he comes to meet you at the pearly gates. I know some people think that dogs won't get into heaven, but can you imagine a place that you would want to be that doesn't have dogs?

Steve,

I'm very sorry to hear this news. I hope it helped to write that. I went through the same thing last year. After 17 years, it was hard to look around and not see Buck. I teared up just reading your post. People without pets don't understand that they aren't just pets, they are family members. My wife put a solar landscape light by his grave so "he wouldn't be in the dark". Rainbow bridge will be a wonderous reunion.

So sorry, Steve and Gail.
Rocky was a fine looking dog and a visit to your shop/home won't be the same without him.

Roger

Steve, thanks for sharing your loss with us. It's never easy, but you and Gail handled everything with grace, compassion and class.

I've helped Laureen with a number of euthanasia's - it's never easy, especially when a pet was a close member of the family for so many years.

Our hearts and prayers are with you and your family. I'm glad that you have a copy of "The rainbow bridge"; there are several different versions and I think I'll post my favorite on NCWoodworker today.

Kindest regards,

Scott

Steve, I am so sorry for your loss. We have been there several times, and probably have more coming. We have 5 pups, 4 of them quite old.
Take care

Steve and Gail,
I'm sorry. So sad to loose a baby no matter how many legs. They're still your baby.
