Note to self

Everyday I'm discovering I'm a stranger in a even stranger land. Is this really my home or am I merely just passing though? A blink of an eye... Dust in the wind... Here for a season, gone the next... Life is so short... make the most of of it while there is still time.

Wood is a terrible thing to waste

None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, so I guess you could say that we are all just passing through. Treasure every minute and live life to the fullest.

And you may ask yourself
How do I work this?
And you may ask yourself
Where is that large automobile?
And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful house!
And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful wife!
David Byrne, The Talking Heads, ca 1980

Talking

A great thought Pete - I often like serious RnR therapy myself. Let's look at all the lyrics from a great classic. I especially like the plaintive "What have I done?"

And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife
And you may ask yourself "Well...How did I get here?"

Letting the days go by / let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by / water flowing underground
Into the blue again / after the money's gone
Once in a lifetime / water flowing underground.

And you may ask yourself - "How do I work this?"
And you may ask yourself - "Where is that large automobile?"
And you may tell yourself - This is not my beautiful house!
And you may tell yourself - This is not my beautiful wife!

Letting the days go by / let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by / water flowing underground
Into the blue again / after the money's gone
Once in a lifetime / water flowing underground.

Same as it ever was...Same as it ever was...Same as it ever was...
Same as it ever was...Same as it ever was...Same as it ever was...
Same as it ever was...Same as it ever was...

Water dissolving...and water removing
There is water at the bottom of the ocean
Remove the water - carry the water
Remove the water at the bottom of the ocean!

Letting the days go by /let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by /water flowing underground
Into the blue again / after the money's gone
Once in a life time water flowing underground.
Into the blue again / into the silent water
Under the rocks and stones / there is water underground

Letting the days go by / into the silent water
Once in a lifetime / water flowing underground

And you may ask yourself - "What is that beautiful house?"
And you may ask yourself - "Where does that highway go?"
And you may ask yourself - "Am I right?...Am I wrong?"
And you may say to yourself - "MY GOD!...WHAT HAVE I DONE?"

Letting the days go by / let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by / water flowing underground
Into the blue again / after the money's gone
once in a lifetime / water flowing undeground
into the blue again / into the silent water
once in a lifetime / water flowing underground

Same as it ever was...Same as it ever was...Same as it ever was...
Same as it ever was...Same as it ever was...Same as it ever was...
Same as it ever was...Same as it ever was...

time isn't holding us, time isn't after us
time isn't holding us, time doesn't hold you back
time isn't holding us, time isn't after us
time isn't holding us,

letting the days go by / once in a lifetime
letting the days go by / once in a lifetime

letting the days go by / once in a lifetime

And I definitely recommend the DVD concert of the Talking Heads entitled "Stop Making Sense." It is over 20 years old now, but I still love to watch it. There is a good reason it has always been highly acclaimed ...

Recent events have confirmed a few things for me:

Take the best care of your health possible
Appreciate and enjoy every day, whatever it brings
Cherish your friends, they can't be bought with money

There are more, but these are more evident daily.

"we see through a glass, dimly---------"

Hey Jeff....Prior to 2000 I spent much time doing little but feel sorry after a divorce and raising my three kids by myself. High stress for two long and I didn't do anything to get rid of it. Then I had a heart attack and was in ICU for 5 days. Now I excercise and quit chasing shadows however I still have two drinks a day to take the edge off. I also got remarried to a wonderful woman. Two of my kids are getting married this year and I am a grandfather from the other. Life can get very serious and everyone handles it differently. Friends are the best remedy as well as a caring wife. Take care my friend.

Can anyone say they do not have a least one regret? Didn't think so!

I would like to live long enough to one day be able to walk into my shop and tell myself "self, you still have a lot to learn but you are a pretty good woodworker". How long did Moses live? I might be in trouble.

It's in reverence I look at yesterday, it's in anticipation I look for tomorrow, but it's with hope I look forward to my destiny. Today is merely a connection between yesterday and tomorrow and one day closer to my destiny. How will I impact tomorrow, that which I do today?

Self discovered truth - I can't change yesterday but what I do today, will shape tomorrow.

Pete No meds are necessary, however I do believe I need a good book.

Thanks

Home is where you hang your hat, where your friends are and where your heart is.
I don't know if you wear a hat, but you've got friends here, the heart part is up to you

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Heard from a client..."If I had your tools and experience...I could do it myself"
