58%, but I KNOW it's rubbing off on me.
His answers for several are inaccurate with respect to New England: I have never heard a Mainer (Mainiac) use "Hero" for a sub -- it's Grinder ("grindah") like the rest of New England. NY / N NJ uses "Hero"

I've never known a native New Englander north of CT to have "Route" rhyme with "clout". It rhymes with "toot."

No 16, to a Native New Englander, is "Tonic," but TV has pretty bred this out of the young 'uns.

Funny side note: I lived for a couple of years near Philly when in my impressionable early teens and so I've called the night of Oct 30th Mischief Night. Funny how those things work!

62% Dixie ?!? I have been in NC since I was born and from the Statesville area transplant to Raleigh for school and now Cary for work...

I reckon I got too much of that edumucation! Pretty sure my pappaw just rolled over in his grave to turn his back to me though

I guess that is another check against marrying my **** yankee!! Good thing LOML doesn't frequent these boards

Well,

Y'all, depending on how I answer the last question, I'm either 50% Yankee, or 69% Southern....

I was born in CA, but my folks moved to NC when I was one. My relatives all say I sound Southern, but no true native would agree with them. My parents are from South Dakota and Idaho.

Interesting! 48% (Yankee) barley! I have lived in the Northwest most of my life with exception of nearly 10 years in Florida during the 90's, and a year at Ft. Gordon, GA. in my early life.

I grew up in Alabama. The first time I came to North Carolina, I expected everyone to say youse guys. Well, that's what people up North say, I thought. What do you expect from a 5 year old?

57% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.

There's something wrong here - I spent my whole life except for the past 4 years in NY. Could I have changed that fast?

70% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score! Born in Nebraska, a few years in Iowa...and the past 40 years south of the Mason Dixon line. But I've been accused of not having an "identifiable accent" - which prompts me to roll it on thicker 'n grits.

Oddly, I've found out that one of my fore-fathers fought on the wrong side of the "War of Northern Aggression"...*sigh*
