Polls opened at 6:30, and I got there at 6:40 to find myself standing in line at the door. I wasn't worried about having to wait, when one of the poll workers asked,"Anyone in line with a last name that starts with M?"

Woo hoo, I got to cut line, and was finished voting by 6:50.

Somewhat of a humbling experience - I've grown up here in the US and have pretty much always taken voting for granted and been somewhat apathetic to it. My wife just became an US citizen 2 years ago and dragged me to the polling station yesterday - we both had goosebumps coming out of there - it was the first time I had voted in anything, and it was the first time she voted as an American. She even knew quite a bit about the electoral process - stuff that I had long forgotten from 8th grade Civics class.

Long story short, I will never ever NOT vote in an election again.
