I recently finished my VA income tax return after completing the Federal and NJ tax returns (I moved in early 2007) With 3 returns to file and a ton of paperwork from sale/purchase of houses , pension income, etc etc I had literally dozens of documents to print out. The cartridge in my inkjet printer expired fairly quickly so I turned to the small printer I use with the laptop...........dead also I replaced one of them with an el cheapo refilled cartridge from Office Depot which did not last long. After shelling out $35 for an official HP cartridge I started seeking an alternative to the high cost of cartridges and found this : http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/p...CB411A%2523ABA

The cost after rebates for the printer and a replacement toner cartidge for eventual use was less than the cost of 4 inkjet cartridge replacements and included free shipping !! I ordered it late Sunday night and it arrived today. I finished all my paperwork and gave it a real workout by printing out the printer manual from CD (100+ pages) It spit out excellent copies at a super fast speed. With toner rated at 700 pages with the factory cartridge and the replacement at 1500 pages I am free from printer supply purchases for a good long while

I saw that ad and was curious about its performance (after also recently having to purchase inkjet cartridges). Congrats on the deal.

I didn't know that HP made lunchbox planers ? How does that thing work on figured wood.

Good luck with it.

Good choice of printers, One thing to remember is that if it throws a warning that the toner is almost empty make sure you have another cartridge available. But don't change it until you start getting gray print instead of black. My Minolta laser will print hundreds of sheets after the warning.

I have an HP LJ1300 that gives me a warning when low, too. I just pull the cartridge out and rotate it again to redistribute the toner. I usually get several hundred more impressions. My printer cost $299 and the cartridges are $93 each, but they are good for at least 5,000 prints.

I have an HP 4100DTN in my shop, which will eventually make it inside after I replace the fuser element, and build a desk strong enough to hold it. Inside the machine is a brand new high volume toner/drum cartridge that should last for 10,000 impressions. Not sure yet whether I will hook it up as a networked printer, or slave it to my desktop for sharing purposes. Lasers make a lot of things possible (and cheaper!) when printing at home.

you got yours for less than the toner cartridge for mine, GREAT SCORE!
