Wow,
That's the same number of years since the Cubs won a world series. That's a lot.

silly Dave, I thought about using my super-evil mod powers to post a reply to that post so that you could be congratulated and feel better.

to those who don't know, a certain member of this forum who has a very high post count was among the biggest nay-sayers when Steve started fielding this concept over on WN. personally, I haven't been there regularly for about two years now.

Thinking back, that was one of the posts that caused me to delay joining the site.

Just kidding. I did delay joining for a few months due to the lack of posts though. I wasn't quite sure what was going on. Back then, it was DL Ames, DaveO, Monty, SteveD, McRabbett, and Steve Coles and Insomniac even posted quite a bit.

The good old days -- well, actually, the site has gotten better -- better software, pleanty of great people, years of memories and a great team under our beneficent Papa Smurf! Travis, you and NC Pete joined a month after me and you've both passed me by, but ironically, DL still leads us both, I believe! I'm coming up on the magic quad threes -- DaveO will probably get to 10K before I get there!

But truth be told, it's not the number but the quality of the threads here and the warm friendships that have evolved. And BTW the "two" in Red above are the same dude, our illustrious Webmaster!!
