I didn't post this in the Hot Deals, as I am not sure what to make of it. The same saw was on auction last week by the same seller. I bid $340 for it, and it sold for $400 IIRC. I send the seller a question about why he was re-listing the item.

In my ebay experience either the buyer backed out or did not meet the payment terms. Or it could be the ugly word. "SCAM" Buyer beware in my opinion.

Look at the seller's history. Did you keep a file on the previous sale to see who bought it? If so, you can search the buyer's feedback from that sale & see if he backed out. A seller with a 129 total transactions & a 100% positive feedback isn't likely to be scamming but he could be getting 'pirated', so try & contact him personally.

Could the seller have a reserve? Maybe the person who outbid you did not meet the reserve amount. Nice looking saw BTW.

There was no reserve on the auction. The seller had 100% positive feedback, but I didn't see any WW'ing items he had sold.

There were two bidders (each with ZERO feedback) who were bidding above my top bid. The seller replied that the winner was in California, and did not read that the bandsaw had to be picked up. The seller had MUST BE PICKED UP at the top of the listing.

I wonder if it was shill bidding?

Nah he's probably legit. online buyers especially from California are flaky sometimes.

I wouldn't go above your original bid for the saw. It might also help to send the owner an email asking if he would ship it and when he says he cannot and posts that info with the auction, that should help you since you live lots closer and can pick it up (just a small ploy...).

Roger that, I won't bid above my top bid in the first go-round. I am starting at the starting bid of $250, like I did the first go-round.
