Talking

I went to the Auction yesterday. They had two sections, Household Items and Workshop Items with the Household Items auctioned first.

The tool selection was pretty good, The guy had a nice shop. However, I got the feeling that most of the crowd was there for the shop items and not the Household Items.

Bidding started on the household items very slow and items had to be combined in large lots to generate any bids. Which was a very good sign. I had spotted an antique phone that I wanted to bid on and waited patiently.

About an hour later I walked away with a Kellogg phone, with all the original parts (minus dry cells)

Being a Telecom Manager to support my shop habits, I just couldn't resist.

Unfortunately, I had to leave before the bidding began on the shop tools. I tried to get back in time but missed it. Oh Well, I came away with a toy anyway

Nice snag on the phone Wayne, old phone stuff is cool. I used to have a '40s era mahogany phone booth and I loved it. That is gonna make a great decoration.

Great looking phone!. Auctioneers have a way of reading a crowd and their mechandise. They will usually hold the items they think everyone is most interested in until the last thing to hold the crowd there.

Wayne,

Congrats on a nice snag. That would make a nice addition to any office.

Very cool. Even cooler if you put it in the workshop and make it function like an intercom or something. Regardless, very cool. I like stuff like that.

I guess you suck off-topic!!

I figured you might have, and you have just admitted (at least to me) how old you are by that very fact.

Roger,

Looks like between 1901 and 1913. It has a patent date on it of 1901, but I think a lot of the phone then had the same patent date on them.
