Question

I don't know if this is the place to ask this or not - but does anyone have an idea if there will be another picnic this year? Or is that only in the Spring

In the fall Klingspor has held a Woodworking show in Hickory. As far as I know it is still on for this year. We get together then also. It's not as sweet as the Spring picnic, but it is still a great time with good food and fellowship.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Phillip except for the big spring picninc, picnics, breakfasts, lunches, wood runs and other gatherings are organized by individuals. Someones says let's do lunch. Posts it as a member announcement and before you know it you have a gathering. Lexington has some great BBQ places. If you schedule a lunch they will come. Try it.

That doesn't mean we can't meet at any of the public picnic grounds and everyone bring their own food. If someone wanted to plan that.

First, while i haven't announced it yet, I intend to make the October Kiligspor event something much bigger (for us ) than it has been in the past. While, it will still be primarily a major way to present ourselves to the woodworking public. I would also like to make it as large a "social event" as the spring picnic.

I usually have a small picnic at my farm in the Fall. There were nearly 40 last time.

You forgot to tell every one to watch out for the bears and orange snakes

Phillip,
If you are reading about picnics in the magazines and they are far away, you are probably reading about scroll saw picnics. Our picnics are not that kind of event, complete with vendors and scrollers from all over the country.

Our picnics are wonderful gatherings of us NCWWers. We get to fellowship, eat (always good), show off our work, etc... At some point I'd like to go to a scrollers picnic, but meeting the folks we chat with all the time is soooo cool.

I too would love to go. You know Cathy the number of scrollers has increased in the North Carolina Woodworker family. Maybe we can get enough interest to rent a van or to car pool to the PA picnic? Might even be able to make a side trip to the Grizzly shop up there. Just a thought.

Dick and I went to the one in Pa june 7 and it was nothing like our picnic. I classify it more as a scroll saw show. There was no food and I didn't know anyone. There were several venders and I bought lots of stuff.
