She is still a little sad:

because she misses her momma:

but we will make sure she has a long and happy life. She does like to come out and lie around in the garage, but she far prefers that I use hand tools.

Looks like a cute one. What kind is she?

I don't know. I have heard lots of guesses with the black and tan like so many breeds. She is very gentle - great with the kids - and obedient. She looks insulted when I get the leash out to walk her. I can let her out in our unfenced yard and she stays in it to take care of her business and then comes back to the door or hangs around outside if I and/or the kids are outside. When Sherry brought her over to play with the kids, she would get excited and vibrant, so I think she will get that back with time, but she is definitely grieving right now. I am a little concerned about next week when we go on vacation, but we are leaving her with friends rather than in a kennel. I wish I was sure dogs understood English (sometimes I think they do, but I am going to feel guilty when we leave for FL).

Thanks. I was a little hesitant to post that, since my link might come across as a beg, but it is for a good cause. "It's not for me; it's for the dog.
