Two days ago, which I wistfully refer to as the good old days, my toiles flushed, my tub drained and my sinks didn't gurgle.

Then, something went wrong, horribly wrong......

I'll spare the boring details about snakes, plungers and cursing.

The highlight was while under the house, when I opened the main drain. Thats the moment I realized the error in my thinking. Thats when gallons of raw sewage poured out the drain into the crawl space and all over yours truely.

Well., let me tell you, this is not the time you want to be wedged into a tight space and lying on a dirt floor.

Fast forward to 18 minutes ago, I finished all the repairs, replacements and copious use of words that make sailors blush.

Bottom line, I did it. I fixed it and persevered. I'm proud of my accomplishments.

Would I do it again, probably. Do I have endless respect for plumbers, YOU BETCHA!

K, I'm gonna crack another beer, put in a movie and try to forget all about this.

Jim

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Dave, don't tease him or he may come back with pics no one wants to see!!!

I've had some run ins, pun intended , with human waste from my restaurant and bar work days that still give me flash backs. Not to mention some from diaper duty.

Brian.

Before you crack that beer and watch that movie I hope you take a nice, hot, long shower. Congrats on a job well done.

I wondered what that smell was... I blamed it on the dog (as I always do).

Dude, sounds like you had an adventure!

Get cleaned up and enjoy the evening, especially being able to flush.

I feel for ya, Jim. But on the lighter side, you ever see a plumber with a cold?
Think about it.
You might not even need a flu shot this year!

I am glad all ended well Jim I can definitely empathize, I recently made a 600 mile journey to AL to help out a widow with a "clogged pipe" that was not resolved until I had spent far too much time lying on my belly in dirt attacking a cast iron sewer main with a sawzall. One definitely gains a healthy respect for the plumbing profession, I'l take woodworking instead any day

Rules for plumbers: 1-hot on the left, cold on the right; 2- sewer flows down hill; 3-boss is a sweet ole boy (initials); 3- pay day is Friday; and most importantly; 4- don't bite your fingernails after working in the sewer. Having held a P-1 licensee for over twenty years all of the above are true, esp. #4.

Movies you may not want to watch....

Die Hard with a Vengeance
The Matrix
The Shawshank Redemption

Glad to hear you got everything back in order. I thought about enhancing the site to include smellovision, but I think we'll put that upgrade on the back burner
