mosquitoes really suck - what is the purpose of a mosquito? let me guess, to carry me away and pick my bones clean?

I found a long soak in dawn dish washing soap seems to help the itching - not that I'm much in to bubble baths but hey if it stops the itching what the heck...

Mosquitoes have much more value in the world than ticks..IMO. They are a food source for many, and their bites go away after only a few days. Ticks on the other hand only serve to reduce population numbers and are a food source for few.
I'll take mosqitoes over ticks any day.
This years hasn't seemed too bad for the mosquitoes, but it is a bumper crops for the ticks.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

you can swat a 'skeeter and it will die. Takes a blowtorch to kill a tick.

We had a 'local' boy - 17 year old healthy football player - die of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever this past week. One of the diseases ticks carry.
I know skeeters carry malaria and sure not downplaying their hazard.

Kinda like the lesser of two evils - want to get punched in the nose or socked in the gut. All things told I'll pass!

The funny thing about skeeters is that when you hear the buzzing it's caused by a male, and they don't bite you.The females need your blood to help them have baby skeeters so they do bite, but they don't make any sound. So the next time you're outside and hear the buzzing you don't have to worry, but if there is silence then..................

Just some thoughts for ya'

I could run with that lead in Jimmy - but I'll have to leave it to your imagination - I promised Kathy I would be nice, but oh how tempting it is.

I'm pretty sure mosquitos are attracted to carbon dioxide. If a mosquito is bothering you... just quit breathing. Either the mosquito will go away or you'll just pass out and won't care that he's biting you!
