Sounds great Doug! The more the merrier. Let me know when you're ready. I'll need lots of buddies keeping an eye on me at the picnic, but it'll be easy. I'm not hard to spot < actually, I kinda' look like this little smilie

Congratulations Stuart!!! to deal with a food related issue is really difficult since we have to eat to live. I belong to a 12 step program where my problems are handled through abstinence . I cannot imagine a lifestyle where getting healthy means limiting the intake of something which is essential to survival . Good luck with reaching your final target and if I may share............"one day at a time" works for me.

Some of it was muscle weight, but unfortunately I ofter participate in the Sea Food Diet- I see food and I eat it.

Andrew- the years of bad diet and lack of exercise before your diet walking program are what did you in. It is a long-term thing. These days, with the cholesterol reducing drugs and better knowledge about what is going with your heart, you have a better chance of avoiding trouble. The doctor put my son on a cholesterol reducing drum and he wasn't even 30! I was never a really bad eater and was rarely overweight when I was in the Navy, but after my heart attack 10 years ago, my Doc said I could have been vegetarian and still had high cholesterol and the same coronary blockages- you can eat it and your body can also make it. I have been fine for the last 10 years and have even been training and competing in swimming. I really do want to lose a bit of weight however.
Prior to retiring I worked for a few years in college athletics , exercised, and managed a 250,000 gallon 6 lane competition pool. A few years ago I was shocked when my doc said I needed to go on a statin drug that is when I found out that we can have a cholesterol issue despite a good diet. Genetics is a big factor. I miss my pool and the chance to swim an occasional sub 30 second 50 As soon as I can get the rest of my tools and machines out of the spare bedroom the dual station universal machine, treadmill, rower, and free weights will come out of storage and be put to use

, Stuart. The "I'm never going back" mindset will keep you focused on attaining your weight goal, and help you stay there.

Congratulations Doug. Stay focused, don't give up, and you will be successful. I'm up to 75 lbs now in 28 weeks. I even lost 1/2 from last Saturday morning to Sunday morning and I was at the picnic on Saturday.
