Hello all.
Since I missed the anual picnic, I decided to treat myself to a memorial day motorcycle ride and I wanted to visit someone from this board that I have not yet met.
If you are going to be in your shop working (playing) on Memorial day and live in the highlighted area of the map attached, I would love to come by, introduce myself and see your shop. Nothing elaborate, just a meet and greet.
Let me know if anyone is interested.

I'm an hour south of that area, but a memorial day ride is a good idea, I'm thinking about doing one also.

If I were going to be in town, that would be fun! But - I will be just starting a week of vacation! Yee-haw!

If my bike was running on Both Cylinders I'd be up for a ride as well...

I've had the thing to Matison Motorsports 3x in the past year and all they do is spray carb cleaner in it and give it back to me - 10 miles down the road a cylinder cuts out and I'm back to 1 for the next 10 miles just to get home.

It's quite a noticeable drop in power on a 1500 cc bike that runs on high test.

Sounds like you need to find a new motorcycle shop -- they aren't doing much for your money or your ride!

Mark,

I am within your zoned area, but just learned that I won't be around this weekend. I am probably headed to Georgia tomorrow afternoon.

Maybe I can catch you on the next ride.

Wait, A motorcycle shop crawl!!!

Parking wouldn't be a problem

I'll be home working on some fun projects, just 50 miles to the west. If you have no takers let me know. Could probably point you to a couple others in the area. Or have a few out to the farm.

No Kidding, you know any reliable bike mechanics in the area?

I don't have a bike so I can't speak from experience but there is a bike shop in Oxford. Coming up 15, on the left, just before the first light after going under I-85. Across from Mazatlan Mexican Restaurant.

I got to meet Mike Davis over the Holiday and had a great time. I recieved his invitation to visit during my Memorial day motorcycle ride and was able to hook up at his home for a quick meet and greet.
We talked motorcylces, wood, shops, bandsaws, horses and had a great all around time. I want to thank Mike for opening his shop and home up to me and hope to meet others on this site in much the same way.
Thanks again Mike.

That's AWESOME! Not only do I wish I had a bike, I wish I didn't work in retail b/c having such employment means you don't get to enjoy the holidays too much.

It's always a good time when you get the opportunity to visit Mike Davis. He is such a gracious host and has an awesome place to hang out, not to mention he is a wealth of knowledge and good stories. I have been up to his place several times and have always enjoyed the visit. I am glad that y'all where able to hook up, that is what makes this site the best. Internet friends that are friends in town

What a day today! I always have to do Monday's work and Tuesday's work when there is a holiday.

It was great meeting Mark, we have a lot to talk about and the visit was way too short for me. How'd you like those curves on the way back?

What do y'all think about a weekend workshop sometime soon? I have enough thick Cypress to make 4 or 5 heavy shaving horses. I want the european style with turned legs and center head.

Anybody want to come and build your own? Free camping, free material and free help, bring your own beer for later in the evening!
