Its been a crazy last few days but we had to take the misses to the Emergency department at the hospital Saturday for what turned out to gall bladder surgery late Sat. night. It was interesting trying to juggle work and tend to her at the same time but as most of you know I work at Cone hospital and that made it easy. She came through surgery well and was very happy the Doctors figured out what the problem was and came out of surgery just as I was clocking out for the night.

We brought her home yesterday and already has her bags packed for the beach trip we have planned so I guess we will be heading down when we get up in the morning. The surgeon said go ahead she could recover there just as well as she could at home.

Bryan,

Great news! Good also that you work right there and could be close all the time.

I don't know exactly what it is (maybe Dino or Trent can explain) but there's just something healing about being at the coast, alone on the beach early in the morning, hearing the sound of the wind and the water, watching the gulls soar by, and taking in the wonderful scent of the salt air. Only place I know of that is as much a healing place for me as the beach is atop a mountain, in fall, enjoying the palette of colors the hardwoods paint while sitting in the crisp morning air enjoying a warm cup of coffee.

Best places to go for healing: physical, emotional, mental; all three.

Good news, Bryan. Take her on down to the sea and let her relax. Be good for the both of you.

Great to hear she is recovering. To Jerry's comment, I think the sounds and sites on the beach are relaxing. It heals the mind and the body follows along.

Glad to hear your wife is through surgery and doing better. Enjoy your vacation but tell her not to overdo it. Maybe she shouldn't borrow one of Trent's surfboards just yet.

Glad to hear LOYL came through the surgery with flying colors, Bryan. You both deserve a vacation at the beach! Just tell her not to do any body-surfing!!!

Jerry there is something about crossing the bridge onto the island that lets you put everything on the other side away

Brian, that is great news - glad they found out what was going on - it took the docs two years to find out what was wrong with me - my gall bladder was only working 18%

Ha ha, well the offer definitely stands. I'm glad to hear that she is doing better. The beach is definitely a natural healing agent. I really like the air and more importantly the water. Then there is also the beer. Oh wait.
