I ordered some clear bags for my DC from Amazon. Below is the shipment tracking info. DHL does stuff like this every time I have had orders shipped through them.

Looks like a computer problem to me. The computer knows where the package is but DHL doesn't.

Interesting. I get stuff like that from USPS and Brown all the time, but we use DHL exclusively for work & they are accurate with us. USPS is a joke. Last few packages I tracked with them had them arrive at my door the day the system listed them as "picked up from the source destination"!

This is just the day to rant about shipping problems. A Grizzly G0555 14" bandsaw is on its way to me via UPS. They called Monday afternoon to schedule delivery on today (Wednesday). Well, the package had not arrive at work as of 4pm.

Christmas 2006, I sent some gifts to family and the local 'shipping retailer' suggested DHL rather than UPS or FedExGnd. I tracked the shipment all the way through. It was to have been delivered on a Thursday. As of Friday AM, the tracking showed it still undelivered. I called their customer service and they said that they were running behind because of the Christmas rush but they would get it delivered today (Friday) or Saturday. As of Monday following, tracking still showed no delivery. I called again and was told, first that they did not deliver on Saturdays and couldn't explain why I was told that, and second, they couldn't find the package. They sent me claims forms to file for the lost package. When we called Christmas day to tell everyone Merry Christmas, I got a thank you for the gifts that were delivered the previous Thursday. No, I didn't file for the claim on the "LOST" package but I did write a nasty letter to the President of the company. Which brings up another point. I tend to write letters to CEO's when something goes wrong, and its getting harder and harder to locate names and corporate headquarters addresses. I think they purposely try to keep that information a secret. I eventually get it through a variety of websites and searches but it is harder and harder.

I can give a thumbs up to DHL. Fed EX ground is a different story. Every year, I order mum cuttings from Yoder Brothers. They are shipped from Pembleton SC, on Monday. By Wednesday, the first box SOMETIMES arrives, with the others arriving by Friday. Remember they were ALL SHIPPED at the SAME TIME. Sometimes, it's Friday and they all show up at once. These are live plants that have been riding around in a hot truck for five days. Fed EX ground returned a band saw blade to Woodworker's Supply in Casper WY, not once, but TWICE. Said they couldn't find my address. Under the mail box is a sign with 3" high numbers on it. On third try, driver threw it on the ground beneath my mail box. UPS took six days to get some bearings from Memphis to here. They spent two days in Knoxville, and then two more in Winston Salem. USPS is never late delivering my bills though. Because I run my business from my home, when getting something motor freight, I have driver call, and go meet him at one of his other stops. Saves him a long trip out, and I get my shipment quicker.

My daughter bought a computer and had it delivered. Problem is, it didn't show. She called and 'brown' said oh yes, it was delivered this morning. She said no it wasn't. They said oh yes, 'so-and-so' signed for it. She told then she didn't know that name.
They said she had to or they wouldn't have signed for it. (HUH?)
So she finally got it through their heads, she didn't have - but wanted- her computer.
They called the driver and he said he delivered it to the day care center. Great. Nope, she doesn't live at the daycare center up the block.
They told her they would have the driver go back the next day and pick it up, and probably deliver it in a few days.
She said no thanks- she'd just go to the daycare and pick it up.
They couldn't understand her logic! They said if she did they wouldn't be responsible... (like they HAD been???)
When she walked to the daycare, they were a bit sad - they thought somone had donated it..... sheesh. She did get it though.
Poo on all of 'em I heard about the great "North Carolina Woodworker Express" and I'm gonna use it if I can!

I have tried DHL three times and all three were disasters. I refuse to buy from anyone that is exclusive with DHL - period.
I even had bought some software and had it overnighted. When it didn;t come the second day and their site showed delivery had been attempted twice (we were there the whole time with the remote doorbells turned on throughout the house) I called and their customer rep said it appears the driver justs didn't make an attempt and that the package was still on his truck. I finally talked to the DHL branch supervisor who after lots off back and forth called a courier to get it out to me because he apparently couldn't find anyone there he trusted to get it done.
