I am probably leaving tomorrow to go to southern GA for my son's high school graduation.

Yes, I know it is hard to believe that I am old enough to have a son graduating high school. (my oldest daughter is actually 20).

I just figured my gas mileage and it is going to cost me almost $225.00 in gas alone to drive.. WHAT!!!!!!

I would ride my bike there, but I have limited time to get there and back. So, Dodge V8 here I come.

If anyone saw the news in Raleigh/Durham this morning. They gave away $40.00 in gas at the station next to where I work. Folks were lined up at 7:00 AM this morning. They had the roads blocked and were backed up to the interstate, which is about mile away. People couldn't get to the hospital to get to work.

Wayne,
Fill up in Mebane and again a little south of Greenville, SC for the cheapest gas heading south. GA and NC are ~= prices.
www.gasbuddy.com has up to date prices and locations.

This is the exact reason we are flying to ATL for IWF. Round trip for two, less than $400. Hour travel time each way. Catch the MARTA to show, and then to hotel. Next day Marta to show, and back. On Friday, take Marta to where our daughter's car is and use it for sight seeing around ATL. Might even leave her car on empty, as she did us when she was a kid. Actually she was very good about leaving gas in the car, after she learned that "E" didn't stand for enough.

This is one time that I think it's a shame that we don't extend a little further. We could transport you with the North Carolina Woodworker pony express. Someone could take you to the next house, them a little further.....Good luck. I'd like to go home sometime this year - but it's 1000 miles each way. Argh!!!!!
