I had my assembly table jacked up about 12 inches off the ground and had Jack stands on all for corners so I could put 2 more locking swivel casters on it Yesterday.

My Neighbor came in the Basement and saw it and asked me what I was doing. I told him it was time for its 200 mile oil change and I was almost done. He said "oh I didn't know it had a motor on it." I never told him any different .

He left and told my other neighbor I really take the Wood working stuff serious. He told him I had a table that had a motor on it and I had to change the oil on it.

He is a smart guy But doesn't have a clue at the same time.

It's a good thing you added the smilies, because I didn't get it at first. I thought you meant you had removed the engine from your car and put it on your assembly table to do some work on it. That might seem strange, but it's quite common in The Netherlands and other parts of Europe. Maybe not for an oil change, but anything even slightly more involved than that and it's often easier to just take the engine out. Space is extremely limited and garages, if you're lucky enough to have one, are very small. Bear in mind that European cars (and engines) are much smaller. So it's much more practical to work on them inside the house.

IKEA even sells a kit that fits over most dining room tables, so that you can work on your engine without damaging things.

(OK, if you believed this, I have an electric board stretcher to sell )

Send him shopping for the spark plugs for your diesel truck, or the ever elusive left-hand monkey wrench.....or even better a few Snipes (they're fast little birds)

Dave

i repaired a hole in his bathroom floor one time and sent him out for the board stretcher in my truck. He came back and said its not in the truck. I went out and looked and told him someone must have stolen it. He said he would go to sears the next day and get one if I needed him to. I couldnt do it to him and told him the truth.

Ok, just what does this neighbor do? Anyone that gullible....well, dang I can't think of any job that doesn't require more smarts than that. Maybe I've lived a sheltered life....or maybe I was raised having to do my own repairs too much?
