Maybe what he actually said was "shouldn't be burned" instead of couldn't be burned.
IT SHOULD BE TURNED INTO SOMETHING LIKE FURNITURE OR SPINNY THINGS
.

The only thing I have ever heard is that if there is lots of pitch (sap) don't burn it cause you risk build up in your chimney which can start a fire. But you can still burn it and then clean your chimney .
