This is a public service announcement for forgetful woodworkers:

Now go buy something for your significant other before you get home tonight...

Don't say I didn't remind you.

... I wonder what kind of woodworking tool she'd like to have?

Dave's woodworking valentines gift to his wife is the chicken coop. I can't laugh too hard, because I didn't make anything. So now I've got to go out and get something.

Mine said "don't buy me anything, just put the money toward the fence" subtext "that you will be building soon"

Should I believe her?

She's getting something... probably an orchid, chocolates and a card. I'd rather hedge my bets and err on the side of caution if she really meant it.

Although currently partnerless (referrals gladly accepted) with 30 years prior experience I think I am qualified to say you have definitely made the right decision to maintain domestic harmony.

My folks do this every year:

My dad buys a new tool for my mom...
Mom buys new diamonds for dad...

Mom hates tools, dad hates diamonds, thus, they trade...

Works for them.

Thanks for the chuckle Glenn. I'm only going to procrastinate a few more minutes here before heading out to get that card. LOML made me agree to card only exchange. Guess I better find a good one

Mostly
Perhaps some candy. It has become a tradition.
Tomorrow the price of roses/flowers will be much cheaper. Her idea, not mine

I got my wife a gift certificate from spafinder.com ... a little late for you to do it because they mail them to you, but they will also send a notification email to the recipient that it is on it's way. These gift certificates can be used at many local establishments and goes over very well with my wife....they are tool reward worthy depending on the spa.

Even though I did make that Chicken Coop for my wife as a Valentine's Day present and she told me that was all that she wanted...I bought her a card anyways. Wimmen seem to need cards for every occassion. She gave me a receipt for the card that she got me, and lost on the way home from the store. To me it's the thought that counts

Edit...she just came home and gave me a mess of Dark Chocolate. I love this woman

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

What is the proper amount of time to keep a card before disposing of it?

I recall DaveO made some walnut heart shaped something or other last year. I would point to it but his photo gallery is so massive I could retire before I find it.

Well I carved them (technically grinded them) so they would be in my Woodcarving album (with only 7 pictures in it)
