Will Goodwin's thread the other day got me thinking about photography again. I worked at the Blockade Runner at Wrightsville Beach for a few years and kept my camera with me whenever I was there. I'm a sucker for a nice sunset and was fortunate enough to snap a few pictures of a handfull of them during that time. I know this is "off topic", but I guess it does relate to woodworking in that it involves an appreciation for nature's beauty. I'd like to call myself a photographer, but I'm just a guy with a camera, surrounded by nice scenery. Just thought I'd share a few...

Trent, those are awesome. Sunset pics are my favorite. They really require being at the right place at the right time (obviously sunset ). You've spectacular exposure and composure on those shots. Of course you are working with the best media in the world....Mother Nature's beauty.
I was shopping a few boutiques in Wilm. this weekend and saw pics like yours, matted for $30-50 bucks a piece. You've got something good here

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Thanks Tommy and Dave,

The scenario was actually pretty idiot proof. I managed the bellstand at the hotel and I was more or less forced to watch the sunset every night at work, so when I saw a good one, I just grabbed the camera and took a walk/short drive/trip to the roof and shot away. The other guys used to give me a hard time about it, but I would just point over at the horizon and say "I want to remember this." Dave, I'm betting you were in the cotton exchange in that photography shop when you saw those photos. I love making calls downtown for work. I usually make a few calls and then walk around and look at everything for a few hours. (Don't tell my boss) I'm glad you all like the photos.

Gorgeous pics, but I cannot show these to my wife. She will be back at Wrightsville beach before I can lock up my shop. She loves that place. It isn't bad, but I avoid the hotdogs at the trolley stop something fierce.

Those are great sunset pictures. I was recently sent a picture of a sunset that blew me away and I would like to share it with you guys. IT was taken at the North Pole.

Wow! I'm definitely not from that part of the woods. What a beautiful pic! Thanks for sharing Dino!

Trent,
Those are some beautiful pictures of sunsets, which are one of my favorite things in the world. I can't wait to meet you at the picnic Trent.
