Reliving the event - looking at pictures. Been a while since I was browsing the Gallery. Is there a way to look at the pictures as a slideshow, or do I need to click on each one to see it full size?

What can be said that has not been said so well already,Thanx to Steve and his merry bunch of elves for putting together a great chance to spend a perfect day with a great bunch of people, eating some outstanding food and enjoying the company of some truly fun people to be around.I was really glad to see that Bas in person is just like Bas should be! Had a blast and really look forward to the next one regardless of which season it's held.

I'll jump in here and echo what others have said. Steve and his most gracious wife did another wonderful job. Great food, great conversation and prizes. I was privileged to make some new acquaintances making this website even more enjoyable.

Major thanks to Steve and Gail for hosting the party, but also many thanks to the people who showed up early and helped with the setup, everyone who brought food and drinks and ice and napkins and tables and gazebo's and door prices and those neat little router bearings and books and hats off those craftsmen and -women who make the rocker and North Carolina Woodworker plaque for Steve and everyone for showing up of course and all the sponsors of the event - Klingspor, Woodcraft and a few others.

I think that just about covers it. If not, I'll catch you next year.

Oh, and I never get tired of hearing of how _some_ people thought North Carolina Woodworker was a really bad idea back in the founding days. That motivates me even more difficult and stubborn and completely not listen to anyone

What a wonderful day! Steve, you and LOYL out did yourselves! Thanks to you both and everyone else who worked to make it such a wonderful event! Our trip was about 400 miles round trip and worth every mile!!!!

It was wonderful seeing old friends (especially Barbara) and meeting new ones. I loved seeing the show and tell items (and yes, I was, again, a table hog). The skill displayed in the pieces by Rita (Rita541), Robert (Sawduster), Scott (NC Scroller) and Jonathan (NCdawgs1882) was amazing. I also won a cool clamp rack!!

A special thanks to Reggie (JackLeg) for making the rocker for Steve. I promise to get my part done ASAP! The plaque for Steve made by Robert (Sawduster) and DaveO is amazing!

Thanks again for a terrific day!!!!!!!

Buddy, glad you started using that lathe. Beware, it only gets better.

Thanks to all who put the picnic together. I had a good time despite my social anxiety phobia. I did say hi to Scott and sat down with Don & his family to eat. Totally blew the food points for the day (I had 37 points just at the picnic) but I got back on track Sunday. Gained 1 lb this week. No more picnics for awhile for me.

Rob -

Sorry I missed you! Would have been fun to swap "bike" stories! Hope you got yours up and running OK. I have put over 600 miles on my "new one" - considering it came with 5100 on it, I would say that is a good indication of how much I like it! Don't know if you saw it or not, but I posted a picture of the bike in the economic stimulus check thread, post #11. You can make out the rack I made for it. Not pretty, but hidden and it works!

Rick
